John Migliaccio, PE
Group Manager, Structural Engineering Services Partner, San Engineering
John Migliaccio leads the Structural Engineering group at SAN Engineering with a clear focus: to ensure that each set of published structural drawings speaks for itself. For him, quality is not just a technical standard, but a public declaration of competence, detail, and commitment.
As a minority partner, John assumes full responsibility for the quality and adequacy of structural projects, from concept to final publication. He sets technical direction, coordinates with design teams and contractors, and masters CAD tools to translate ideas into construction-ready drawings. His judgment is key to selecting projects aligned with the team’s capabilities, and his role is instrumental in maintaining strong relationships with partners on each project.
What motivates him every day is ensuring that structural documents not only meet regulatory requirements but also reflect the deep knowledge and attention that distinguishes San Engineering. His goal: efficient, safe, and reliable public infrastructure, built intelligently from the ground up.
His most meaningful experience has been working on projects that, at first, seemed impossible. From these challenges, his most memorable projects are born:
Sanderson Gulch Channel Improvements
- Hundreds of custom structural details
- Unprecedented solutions for underground flood control structures
- Railroad bridge replacement using Accelerated Bridge Construction techniques
Gorilla Enclosure, Denver Zoo
- Replacement of an aging habitat
- Design for unique loading conditions typical of high-strength animals
- A safe and engaging experience for visitors and animals alike
John deeply enjoys collaborative work. He values the exchange of ideas and the synergy that emerges from designing together. With clients, his mindset is clear: he puts himself in their shoes to understand their problems and respond with solutions. Because at SAN Engineering, every structural drawing is a promise kept.
