Eduardo San Rubio, PE
Managing Member, Principal & Civil Engineering Manager — San Engineering
A born leader, an engineer by training, and a visionary by conviction, Eduardo San Rubio leads San Engineering as Managing Member and Principal, in addition to playing a key operational role as Civil Engineering Manager. His leadership combines strategic vision with technical execution, guiding every area of the business with precision, efficiency, and purpose.
A minority owner, Eduardo not only plays a fundamental role in the development of projects assigned to companies with this distinction, but also acts as a bridge between new business opportunities and established relationships in the industry. His ability to open doors, detect potential, and build alliances is as strong as his commitment to technical excellence.
His role within the company encompasses much more than civil engineering. He is a business partner, team coordinator, quality supervisor, designer, operational director, recruiter, administrator, IT supporter, and even supplier of supplies. Each of these roles serves a larger objective: to offer all team members a dignified and stable life, while building an efficient, professional, and humane firm.
His daily motivation is as simple as it is powerful: ensuring the well-being of his team in an efficient and enjoyable work environment. Beyond the technical, his vocation for service extends to the community. He firmly believes that engineering can—and should—make cities better places to live. That’s why he’s involved in projects that transform urban life: better libraries, safer roads, more functional airports, and projects that enable universal access. He also dedicates personal time to neighborhood associations, where he ensures the maintenance and improvement of neighborhood infrastructure.
In his business vision, Eduardo maintains a realistic and strategic relationship with collaborators, suppliers, and clients. Given San Engineering’s status as a certified minority firm, the use of subconsultants is limited, as participation credits are assigned only to the directly contracted firm. Therefore, his collaborators often operate as independent specialists, primarily supporting the structural group due to the shortage of structural engineers in the Denver metropolitan area.
Regardless of the project category, its business philosophy is clear: to provide technically and economically viable solutions that help its clients meet their objectives. Through a fluid interaction between client and regulatory authority, SAN Engineering guides each project through the entire permitting and authorization process. This way, clients—new and old—find reasons to return.
Eduardo and his team carefully select the clients they collaborate with, prioritizing those who share or exceed their level of experience and who also understand the economic sense behind a well-designed project: one that is viable, constructible, and useful to the community.
Eduardo is a civil engineer by training. His most memorable project—the improvements to the intersection of E 75th Avenue and Jackson Gap Road—is a testament to the tangible impact that good engineering can have on the community.
He has been instrumental in San Engineering’s journey. Since its founding, he has not only attracted what he considers one of Colorado’s best structural engineers as a strategic partner, but has also been responsible for building a team of exceptional talent committed to outstanding design and shared growth.
